Ryan graduated from Taylorville High School in 2018, where he was very involved in FFA, Student Council, National Honor Society, and Key Club. After high school, he attended Lake Land College for 2 years. He then transferred to Illinois State University and earned a bachelor's degree in Agribusiness. Ryan was active in the Collegiate Farm Bureau chapters at both Lake Land College and Illinois State University. While he attended ISU, he interned at Central Commodity FS in Taylorville. After college, he was hired as a County Manager Trainee at the Illinois Farm Bureau and then was hired a few months later as the Mason and Menard County Farm Bureau Manager.
